Every product on XpertPick is evaluated using a consistent, repeatable testing process — lab measurements, real-world usage, and expert analysis combined into a single transparent score.
All products are purchased at retail price or borrowed from verified third-party sources — never gifted by brands. This ensures our evaluations are free from commercial influence. Products that arrive in unusual condition or show signs of pre-modification are excluded from testing.
Tests are conducted in controlled indoor conditions unless stated otherwise. For appliances like air conditioners, we standardise ambient temperature, humidity, and room size to ensure comparable results across products in the same category.
Beyond lab measurements, our reviewers use each product in typical day-to-day scenarios for a minimum of 48 hours. This surfaces issues that controlled tests can miss — build quality feel, software quirks, noise under actual load, and long-run efficiency.
Depending on the product category, we evaluate:
Our test data is stored and versioned. Where possible, we publish raw numbers alongside each review so you can verify our findings. If a firmware update or recall materially changes a product's performance, we re-test and update the score accordingly.
No brand pays for a review or influences a score. Sponsored content is clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial. Our reviewers have no financial stake in the brands they evaluate. If a conflict of interest arises, the review is reassigned.
We're happy to explain how a specific score was calculated or clarify any test data.
